DELROY KINCAID: Conceptual Arts, Prototypes, Production Stills

Early on I had a clear idea of the overall story. I lived elements of it, but I am a terrible when it comes to sketching. I managed to scribble some images on many pieces of paper for the real talented artists to experiment with as I directed them through it. Mostly by webcam and email and all forms of communication.

I allowed them to experiment, but didn't want to go off rails. My team was in Montreal, Hamilton and elsewhere and there was much scanning, and uploading and downloading for months. These are some of the behind the scenes stills and conceptual art, animation.  -Powys Dewhurst

TRIVIA: The director didn't meet his Montreal-based composer face to face until 2012.  They are now very close friends and talk almost every day.

TRIVIA: After realizing that driving 50km to sit with the editor was impractical, the director suggested experimenting with a webcam over the shoulder of the editor so he could see exactly what was happening. It saved on fuel.

TRIVIA: The director relied on a few 'old school'  processes and 'in -camera' techniques, in which the actors and crew could see the results on set, on the day. He balanced practical techniques and projection with newer techniques.
